Local officials and volunteers help women and young children commute in flooded Nam Yuen district of Ubon Ratchathani on Wednesday morning. Prasit Thongkham, president of the Nong Saeng Yai tambon administration organisation, said floodwaters had isolated Ban Dong Mafai, Ban Dong Bak, Ban Nong Saeng Noi and Ban Kud Yakham villages of tambon Nong Saeng Yai in Khong Chiam district. Runoff had poured into Ban Sri Boonruang village in tambon Nuam Yuen of Nam Yuen district. The heavy rain was brought by depression Sonca, which covered the Northeast on Wednesday. The Meteorological Department said it was moving slowly westerward towards the North and would bring more heavy rain to the North, Northeast, Central Plain and the East until Friday.
